Braces are a great tool on the journey to your new smile! Flossing when you have braces is important to prevent cavities, gum inflammation and to speed up tooth movement. Here are the three best tools to floss if you have braces:
- Use a floss threader: thread the floss into the blue threader and pass it under the wire. You can reuse the blue floss threader.
- Use a pre-threaded floss such as OralB Superfloss: no need to thread anything, the floss already has a threader incorporated in it. You need to use a brand new strand every time you floss.
- 3. Use floss sticks specifically designed for braces: these look like regular flossers, but one side is super thin so it can get under your wire. This is the fastest and easiest way to floss, but you have to be careful that you do not damage the braces or wire around tight contacts.
