What is Angel Aligner?
Angel Aligner is a brand of clear, removable aligners that straighten teeth and correct bites. Each set is made from a 3D scan of your teeth and planned by your orthodontist, step by step, before treatment begins.
At your free consultation we take a 3D intraoral scan instead of messy impressions, and you see a simulation of your planned result before you decide anything. You then change to each new set of aligners on the schedule we give you. We check your progress in the office and, for many patients, by remote monitoring between visits.

What is the difference between Angel Aligner and Invisalign?
Both are clear aligner systems that move teeth in small, planned steps, and at our practice they cost the same. The differences are in the aligner material, the design of the aligners and the planning software, and Dr. MacKenzie, who has worked with both systems for years, recommends Angel Aligner for most comprehensive cases.
One difference patients notice is that when elastics are part of the plan, the hooks are built into the Angel aligner itself, so fewer elastic buttons need to be glued to your teeth. You can read more on our Invisalign and Clear Aligners page.
Who is Angel Aligner for?
Angel Aligner treats most of the same problems as braces, in children, teens and adults. If you are a candidate for braces, you are usually a candidate for clear aligners too.
We use clear aligners for crowding, spacing, overbites, deep bites, open bites and many crossbites. For younger children, the Angel Kid Aligner System can widen a narrow upper jaw and guide the teeth while the jaw is still growing. Read more on Aligners and Palatal Expanders for Kids. Some children have treatment in two phases, with a first phase of about 5 months, a break of 2 to 3 years while the adult teeth come in, then about 12 months to finish. Teens and adults can read more on Invisalign and Aligners for Teens and Invisalign and Aligners for Adults.
How long does Angel Aligner treatment take?
Most of our patients finish Angel Aligner treatment in 12 to 24 months, depending on how much their teeth and bite need to move. A short touch up for teeth that have shifted takes 2 to 3 months.
As a guide, simpler full treatments take about 10 to 12 months, moderate ones 12 to 24 months and more complex ones 18 to 24 months. Treatment that involves jaw surgery or impacted canines usually takes 24 to 30 months. You wear your aligners about 22 hours a day and take them out to eat and to brush and floss. For short treatment, see Smile Touch Up.
How much does Angel Aligner cost?
At our practice, Angel Aligner, Invisalign and braces all cost the same. Your fee depends on how complex your treatment is, and we confirm it at your free consultation.
We direct bill most major insurance providers and offer interest-free monthly payment plans. For more detail, see How Much Is Invisalign? and our Payment Plans page.
