Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 19, 2026

MacKenzie Orthodontics (“we,” “us,” “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of our patients and website visitors. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website (sjortho.ca) and our offices in Saint John, Quispamsis, and St. Stephen, New Brunswick.

Information We Collect

When you visit our website or contact our practice, we may collect: contact details you provide through forms (name, email, phone number, and any message content) when booking a consultation or submitting an inquiry; medical and dental history information you provide as part of a patient intake form, before or during treatment; and technical and usage information collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies, including pages visited, device and browser type, and how you arrived at our site.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide to respond to inquiries and book consultations, deliver orthodontic care and manage your treatment, communicate with you about appointments and your care, and process payment and financing where applicable. We also use aggregated or de-identified website usage data to understand how visitors use our site and to measure and improve our advertising.

Third-Party Services We Use

We use the following third-party tools, each of which processes some data on our behalf: Meta (Facebook and Instagram) Pixel and Conversions API, to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and, where you’ve consented, to show you relevant ads; Google Analytics and Google Ads, for similar website-analytics and advertising-measurement purposes; GoHighLevel, as our customer relationship management system, to manage consultation requests and follow-up communication; and our payment and financing providers, to process treatment payments where applicable. These providers may collect information directly through cookies or similar technologies when you interact with our website. You can control cookie-based tracking through your browser settings or, where offered, a cookie consent tool on our site.

Patient Health Information

Information collected as part of your dental and orthodontic care is handled in accordance with New Brunswick’s Personal Health Information Privacy and Access Act (PHIPAA) and applicable federal privacy law (PIPEDA). We collect only the health information necessary to provide safe and effective care, and we do not share it outside our practice except as needed to coordinate your care (for example, with a referring dentist or specialist), as required by law, or with your consent.

Children’s Information

We provide orthodontic evaluations and treatment to children, including consultations recommended around age 7. Where a patient is a minor, we collect and use information about that patient with the consent and involvement of a parent or legal guardian, and we communicate about that patient’s care with their parent or guardian.

Your Rights

Under Canadian privacy law, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request corrections to inaccurate information, and ask questions about how your information is collected, used, or shared. To make a request, contact us using the information below. If you have concerns about how we’ve handled your personal information that we haven’t resolved, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Data Retention and Security

We retain personal and health information for as long as necessary to provide care, meet our professional and legal record-keeping obligations, and support ongoing treatment. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
