Orthodontic consult for children

All children should have a growth monitoring visit starting at age 7. This visit continues on a yearly basis until all of their adult teeth have erupted, usually by age 12. The appointment is easy and comfortable, and not every child needs treatment at this age. During the growth monitoring visit, Dr. MacKenzie will examine the teeth and jaws and will take photos and an x-ray. The x-ray will show all the erupting adult teeth as well as the baby teeth.

Even if your child needs early orthodontic treatment, Dr. MacKenzie will discuss the timing and will recommend a time that is best for your child and your family. If your child does not need early orthodontic treatment, we will see them every year until all their permanent teeth erupt.
