- Use a floss threader: thread the floss into the blue threader and pass it under the wire. You can reuse the blue floss threader.
- Use a pre-threaded floss such as OralB Superfloss: no need to thread anything, the floss already has a threader incorporated in it. You need to use a brand new strand every time you floss.
- Use floss sticks specifically designed for braces: these look like regular flossers, but one side is super thin so it can get under your wire. This is the fastest and easiest way to floss, but you have to be careful that you do not damage the braces or wire around tight contacts. A common brand is Platypus floss picks, but many different brands exist
- If you are still struggling with flossing, a water flosser such as Waterpik or OralB water flosser are a great choice
- Remember that you have to visit your dentist regularly for professional cleanings (every 3-6 months) when you are in orthodontic treatment in order to keep your teeth and gums clean and healthy
